Spell with a Driveway Letter Grid

I've lost count of how many learning games we've played on the driveway. We've tried math, sight words, and now spelling words. This is a fun way to practice spelling and a great way to burn some energy after school. So, grab some sidewalk chalk and let's get spelling with this fun, active learning game.

To set-up:
Grab your sidewalk chalk and find a large area of concrete. Write out the alphabet in a large grid. You'll want it big enough so that your child can stand on an individual letter.

Now you're ready to play!

Call out one of your child's spelling words and have them spell the words by jumping to each letter. If there are 2 letters in a row (i.e. tt or ee), just jump twice on that letter. Sometimes they may have to do some creative leaping if the letters are too far apart!

Jump, spell, and have fun!

Are you enjoying the spelling ideas, but wish they were in printable form. You're in luck! You can buy the printable ebook, 31 Ways to Practice Spelling Words at this link for $5.00
